Overview

Annapurna Circuit Trek is a classic and excellent trek in Nepal. It is one of the most sought after treks, and every year thousands of trekkers embark on this challenging but rewarding journey. In this trek, you get to experience hot springs and green terrains as well as marvel at the beauty of nature around the Annapurna circuit.

Our 10-day journey begins from Kathmandu. We will trek alongside the gorgeous Marshyangdi River while the Annapurna range cheers you on from a distance.

Once we reach Manang, we will cross the infamous Thorung La Pass (5,416m) and descend towards Muktinath (3802m).

After visiting the holy pilgrimage of Muktinath, you will ride the bus for a few hours from Jomsom to Tatopani, the final stop before heading back to Pokhara.

This entire trek rewards you with breathtaking views of Annapurna II & III, Lamjung Kailash, Annapurna South, and other peaks like Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Ri, and many more.

You will get to be face-to-face with the different cultures through the villages and communities. Across the route, you can immerse yourself into Gurung, Tamang, Sherpa, Magar, and Thakali communities.

Your guide takes you through, not only the forests and nature but also through villages where you get to learn about locals, their lifestyle, culture, and their way of life.

Itinerary

Day 1
Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (760m/2493 ft.)
Our staff will brief you on the outline of the trip. You start your journey after breakfast and head out via bus to Besisahar. Besisahar is the district headquarter of Lamjung. It is famous for its markets, and you will see plenty of travelers preparing for their treks. Here, you can experience the bustling market scene as well as mingle with other travelers. The bus ride to Besisahar takes 6-7 hours.
Day 2
Drive to Chame (2670m/8760 ft.)
We will have breakfast and proceed towards Chame. We travel via bus, which will take 5-6 hours for you to reach Chame. Chame, where the trekking starts, is the headquarter of Manang District. Situated right next to the Marsyangdi river, this is a small town with a lot to offer. You can spend your time admiring the flowing river or mix with the locals. There are also artistic mani walls for you to snap pictures of as you prepare for your trek the next day.
Day 3
Trek to Pisang (3250m/10663 ft.)
On this day, we will walk for a total of 5-6 hours. Right after we head out from Chame, we will cross a suspension bridge, where the majestic Lamjung Himal will be waiting to welcome you. We will walk through the luscious rhododendron forests as the Lamjung ridge looks on. You will also be able to see glimpses of the Ngada Chuli. We will continue our walk and cross the village of Bhratang as well as the base of Pangri Danda. We then see and move through steep canyons as well as the pristine mani walls. Further on, we will cross a bridge and enter a more forested trail. As we enter the Valley of Pisang, we will see snowy ridges at a distance. On the trail, the Upper Pisang and Chulu peaks are visible and will help keep your spirits high. Here you can either choose to take a rest or explore the surroundings.
Day 4
Trek to Manang (3540m/11614 ft.)
The next morning, we will set out on our trek again. After about two hours, we will reach Ghyaru village. This trek to Manang should take us approximately 5-6 hours. Fantastic views of Annapurna II, as well as some other peaks, will greet you along the way. From here, we will head to Ngawal, which is another two-hour journey. But with the Pisang Peak and the Annapurna Peaks to rally you on, the strain of this trek will be the last thing on your mind. The Ngawal village has a distinct look with multiple mani walls and prayer wheels. You can spend some time mingling with the locals or head on below to Humde Village. We will walk further west past Braga, after which is a 20-minute walk to Manang.
Day 5
Trek to Yak Kharka (4120m/13517 ft.)
This trek will take you about 4-5 hours. It will take you right to the mouth of Marshyangdi, where two separate rivers connect. We will trek upwards to reach Yak Kharka alongside the flowing waters. Here you can find yourself surrounded by the Annapurna range as well as the Gangapurna peak.
Day 6
Trek to Thorung Phedi (4550m/14928 ft.)
At this point, with high altitudes, the steps are steeper, and so the climb might feel strenuous. We take ample breaks to combat the fatigue. You will feel like you are walking right next to the peaks as you walk through Ledar. You will stop to consider whether to continue trekking or take pictures with the mesmerizing views of Annapurna III and Gangapu surrounding you. Once we reach up to Thorung Phedi, you can stop and rest to gather energy for the next day’s hike as it will be a bit demanding.
Day 7
Trek to Thorung La (5416m/17769 ft.) and Muktinath (3802m/12474 ft.)
This day will be the most challenging and exciting part of the trek. You will trek up to the highest point in the Annapurna Circuit Trek, the Thorung La Pass. We start the trek early in the morning towards the Thorong High Camp. After two hours on this trail, you can stop to take a breather at a tea house. It should take about 3-4 hours to reach the famous Thorong La Pass. Hopefully, you haven’t exhausted your camera memory with all the gorgeous scenery along the way. You are most definitely going to want your picture at one of the widest passes in the world. Once you enjoy the views as well as have a hearty meal at one of the many tea houses here, we descend towards Muktinath. It is quite a long way down, but you will encounter many villages along the way. Here, you can get a peek into the daily livelihoods of the people in this region. Once you get to Muktinath, you can see hundreds of devotees that line up each year to this famous pilgrimage.
Day 8
Drive to Tatopani (1200m/3937 ft.)
Now that you have conquered dense forests, harsh terrains, and high altitudes, it is finally time to sit back and relax. The drive to Tatopani should take about 6-7 hours, which will take you through Jomsom and will coast alongside the Kaligandaki River. Once you get to Tatopani, you can relax and melt the strain away with a dip into the hot springs. The views are still not over as you can see Mt. Dhaulagiri at a distance congratulating you on completing this rewarding trek.
Day 9
Drive to Pokhara
The next day, we head back to Pokhara, which should take about 5-6 hours. Once in Pokhara, you can spend a pleasant evening lakeside with a drink in hand to unwind. Pokhara has no shortage of nightlife and activities, so rest assured there will be something for everybody.
Day 10
