7 Days Everest Panorama Trek Altitude Chart
Itinerary
At the crack of dawn, we’ll drive you to Tribhuvan Airport and take a flight to Lukla shortly after. After a comfortable scenic flight of half an hour, we’ll land at Tenzing Hillary Airport. In a short time, we’ll meet our crew members, have breakfast, and set off on a journey to Phakding.
The trek starts right from the village and heads above the hill, providing a lovely view of mountains. We’ll gently descend the trail to Thado Koshi River and subsequently cross the suspension bridge, which provides a gorgeous view.
Enjoying the terrific shot of Mt Kusum Kanguru, we’ll pass Ghat, a small Buddhist village, then move to Phakding. Overall, the trek today is enjoyable, with a mix of ups and downs. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.
After early morning breakfast, we’ll continue our journey, heading towards Namche Bazaar. The trek starts with a gentle walk from the northern bank of Dudh Koshi River and over a suspension bridge decorated with colorful flags.
Numerous times, we’ll use suspension bridges, including Hillary, to cross the river. Navigating the forested trail and walking through Monjo, we’ll arrive at Sagarmatha National Park.
After getting permits, we’ll ascend the trail through the dense forest and to Jorsale, from where the trek gets extremely difficult. We have to climb endless steep hills for about an hour or two before reaching Namche Bazaar. Tonight we’ll stay in a guesthouse.
Since the trek above has many steep ascents, we’ll rest a day at Namche before trekking any further. There are several ways to spend a day here, including a walk through the town and wildlife exploration in Sagarmatha National Park.
Unlike others, we’ll hike to Khunde and Everest View Hotel during the day. They are the most popular tourist spots to catch the best view of Ama Dablam and Thamserku. Khunde and Khumjung are the two most frequently visited remote villages in the northwest of Namche.
They have many ancient Tibetan monasteries, mani walls, and gompas to visit. Travelers can get a wonderful picture of Sagarmatha from the Everest View Hotel as well. It also rewards them with stunning glimpses of lush green hills, dramatic mountainscape, and deep valleys. Once the sightseeing is over, we’ll immediately return back to the village and spend the night in a guesthouse.
A long trekking day to Tengboche begins with a steep climb above the Dudh Koshi River. The trail makes its way through the deep forests, where we can witness various Himalayan wild species, including pheasant, musk deer, and Tahr.
After the strenuous climb, the trail drops down to Dudh Koshi River and crosses the suspension bridge. From here, we trek through the pine forest and walk above the valley to arrive at Tengboche.
Nestled at an elevation of 3,860 meters, Tengboche is a remote Tibetan village with many ancient monasteries, chortens, and religious shrines. It’s mostly inhabited by Sherpa people and has a series of old buildings with stone sculptures and artifacts.
Since Tengboche is the most spectacular sunrise point in Khumbu, we’ll wake up early in the morning to catch the view. After capturing the sun on the horizon and sighting the marvelous Ama Dablam, we’ll have our breakfast.
In no time, we’ll leave the settlement and retrace the steps back to Namche. As the trek is mostly downhill, it takes us around 5 hours to reach the Sherpa town. The 5.7 miles walk begins on a rugged route and a descent through the forest.
Before heading to a string of mountain villages, we climb down the steep slopes and pass the white chortens with prayer flags. Along the route, we’ll also get to witness some jaw-dropping views of Mt. Everest and Lhotse. Overnight stay in a guesthouse at Namche.
On the last day of the 7 days Everest Panorama Trek, we’ll hike Lukla. Although it’s an easy walk, it takes nearly 7 hours to get to the town. Therefore, we start trekking down the hill early in the morning. After the descent, we cross the suspension bridge and walk through several villages.
We spend most of the day trekking downhill, through the forest and Dudh Koshi River Valley. After reaching Lukla, we’ll all get some rest. To celebrate the success of 7 days EVerest Panorama Trek, dinner has been arranged in the guesthouse.
If things go as planned, we’ll return to Kathmandu today. After breakfast, we’ll fly back to the airport and move into the guesthouse. Later, you can visit some UNESCO world heritage sites and even walk around the streets. Our experienced guides will accompany you during the trip.

Yes, you’ll need an entry permit of Sagarmatha National Park for further access. Without the permit, you won’t be able to make it to Tengboche as the trails through the sanctuary.
The trek is pretty safe as it accommodates the beginners as well. Its trails aren’t challenging at all and can be easily tackled. Precautions are to be taken, but the trekkers don’t have to follow too many safety protocols.
Spring and Autumn are the ideal time to trek Everest Panorama. They have incredible weather with scenery to die for. Weather and temperature are more stable around this time, along with a clear sky, which provides uninterrupted views.

When is the best time for Everest Panorama Trek?
The best time for Everest Panorama Trek is Spring and Autumn when the colorful wildflowers and trees provide a wonderful view. They both offer mild weather to visitors and make it comfortable trekking. In fact, it turns out that the fall season is a real crowd-pleaser.

The average temperature of Khumbu ranges from -6 to 12 Degree Celsius during the season. So, even though Autumn has warm days, its nights can be extremely cold. The weather is usually great and sunny. There is hardly any fog and mist hiding around the mountain, so it won’t be that tough for trekkers to click the shot of Everest and its surrounding snow peaks.
Khumbu is normally cold in early spring, with temperatures dropping below -12 Degree Celsius. But, from the beginning of April, the weather gets better as temperatures rise to 15 Degree Celsius. The views are pretty incredible in Spring, with delicate blooming flowers, green terrace farms, and lush meadows.
During spring, days are sunnier and joyful. But as soon as the sun sets, the temperature in the mountain starts to fall, making the weather cold and frosty. Since it’s peak trekking season, you can expect the main EBC trail to be more crowded and busier in the season.
Winters are generally cold and bitter in Everest, while the summers are hot. The weather in Monsoon is moderate, but there’s a continuous drizzle. Trekkers will encounter wet trails, which are difficult to tackle.
The extreme heat and long walks of Summer can easily outwear hikers. It also causes fatigue and puts strain on hikers. Winter doesn’t bless the hikers with a pleasant climate either. It’s crisp and typically wintry, which creates difficulties for travelers.
