Overview

Mera peak climbing is the tallest trekking peak in Nepal standing tall at height of 6,476m.We will have to go through the Makalu Barun National Park, hence we will also be able to visit the beautiful national park. We will be able to witness various kind of vegetation and exquisite animals and birds.

We will also have beautiful view of the high hills and mountains like Lhotse, Choyu, Ama Dablam, Kanchenjunga and Makalu. We will pass through several settlements of the mountain people, enchanting forests. We will be able to be part of the local culture and lifestyle. We will trek through the mystical Hinku which once again will offer us beautiful and splendid views on the mountains and hills.It will be most suitable for climbers who seek adventure and thrill.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival to Kathmandu (1400m approx.)

We heartily put our hand forward to welcome you in Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), and drive you to your hotel, in a private car or a high-end tourist bus. After check-in, you can either go around this beautiful city or some rest at your hotel.

Day 2
Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu.

On your second day, we will take a short tour in this famous capital of the Himalayan country. After finishing breakfast in your hotel, we will take you to sightseeing some of the cultural monuments of Nepal listed in World Heritage Site. At 8:30, we will pick you up from your hotel and first visit the biggest Hindu shrine, Pashupatinath which is at least couple of hundred years old. From here, we will visit Swayambhunath and then Boudhanath, ancient Buddhist shrines built in Shikhara style. Later in the evening, we can roam around Kathmandu Durbar Square, epitome of middle age architecture of Nepal. You can buy souvenirs to take home or do some last minute trekking shopping in Thamel.

Day 3
Fly to Lukla and Trek to Paiya (2,730m).

On third day, we’ll board a flight to Lukla (2810m), from TIA. You will be able to rejoice the sight of splendid hills, rivers and mountains during a 30 minute flight. On reaching Lukla airport, you’ll be introduced to your porter, and served a wholesome breakfast. After that, we will head north to Paiya (2730m). It is an easy 3-4 hour hike.

Day 4
Trek to Panguam (2,850m)

We will now trek to reach Panguam which will be around 6 hours long. We will trek through the main trial and reach the beautiful village inhabited by hill people of different ethnicity. The night will be spent in a local lodge.

Day 5
Trek to Nagindingma (2,650m).

After breakfast we will trek gently downhill to a village inhabited by hill Mongol people. It will be around four to five hours long. On reaching Nagindingma, we can rest for a while and then explore the vicinity.

Day 6
Trek to Cholem Kharka (3,350m).

Now we will trek from there uphill over the rocky trial. The trekking today will be physically demanding and exhausting as it will takes days us around 7-8 hours long. We will spend the night in a local guest house.

Day 7
Trek to Khola Kharka (3,930m).

We will trek uphill today through the rocky trial for around seven hours. We will walk along the bank of dwindling rivers, through green meadows and enchanting forests. Night will be spent in a local guest house.

Day 8
Trek to Kothe (4,180m).

We will trek to Kothe after breakfast, and the trek will be around 6-7 hours long. It is a small beautiful village of mountain people which reward us with beautiful view on the Himalayas.

Day 9
Trek to Thaknak (4,350m).

We will trek slowly uphill for at least three to four hours and reach Thaknak. It is a beautiful village. From here we can have very beautiful view of the guarding snowy peaks. The night will be spent in a cozy little lodge.

Day 10
Trek to Khare (5,045m).

We will trek to Khare after waking up early in the morning and having a hearty breakfast. It will take us around three hours to trek through the main trial. We will spend the night in a small lodge in Khare.

Day 11
Rest and acclimatization in Khare.

We have allocated an entire day for adapting ourselves to harsh environment in Khare. We will explore the environment and go for walks. We can also interact with the locals and experience the life in Himalayans.

Day 12
Khare to Mera Base Camp (5,300m).

Today is a major day as we will go to Mera Base Camp. The trek will be however short as it will only take us around four hours. We can have beautiful and very near view of the Mera Peak. The night will be spent in a camp tent.

Day 13
Mera Base Camp to High Camp (5,780m).

We will now climb uphill through the snowy and rocky trial for around five hours. From here we can have even better view of the Mera peak and other mountains. We will spend the night in a cozy camp and prepare for the big day tomorrow.

Day 14
Mera high camp to summit (6,461m) and back to Khare.

Today is the main highlight of the trek as we will climb the summit. The feeling of reaching the top will be very rewarding and satisfying. After spending some time in the peak we will descend downhill to base camp and then Khare.

Day 15
Trek from Khare to Kothe

We will now return downhill leaving the mountains in backdrop. It will take us around 5 hours to trek back to Kothe. We will spend the night in a local guest house.

Day 16
Kothe to Chetwarwa (3,580m).

We will now trek to Chetarwa and it will take us around six to seven hours. On reaching our destination, we can go for exploration of the local vicinity and enjoy the life of rural people.

Day 17
Chetarwa to Lukla.

Chetarwa we will trek down to the economic hub of this region, Lukla. It will be around six to seven hours long trek. We will spend the night in local tea house. Have last dinner with guide and porter and enjoy the last night in the mountain.

Day 18
Fly back to Kathmandu.

Early in the morning, we will catch a plane from Lukla to Kathmandu. Don’t forget to pick a seat on the right side, to see the insatiable mountains again. On reaching Kathmandu, you will be escorted back to your hotel.

Day 19
Final departure to home.

Now it’s time to say good bye to you from this remarkable country. Our staff will help you to take you to the airport from where you will get flight to your destination. With a memorable good-bye, for sure you will miss this country and make some plans to visit again.
